In the courtyard of a Shanghai temple, a man holds his incense sticks before the incense burner. Smoke rises, blurring the outlines and turning the gesture into a dialogue with the invisible. Around him, the architecture, the signs and the presence of a child place the moment within an ancient continuity. Praying captures a simple, intimate, almost silent faith at the heart of the visible world.

The theme from Little Buddha, composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, extends this meditation with a solemn gentleness. The strings, pentatonic motifs and slow pulse seem to follow the incense smoke. The music connects the intimate with the sacred, the present with the ancient, and transforms the scene into an inner sanctuary, suspended beyond time.
