PAINTING SORROW

In the graffiti-saturated Leak Street Tunnel, an artist paints while a figure remains seated a few metres away. One acts, the other watches. Around them, layers of colour, torn posters and light create a living chaos. Painting Sorrow captures that point of balance where creating becomes a way of containing what is overflowing inside, without running from it.

God Moving over the Face of the Waters from the film THE BOURNE IDENTITY

0:000:00

God Moving Over the Face of the Waters unfolds in a slow, hypnotic, inexorable build. Moby turns the tunnel into a mental space: the repeated motifs accompany the painter’s gesture, while the scale of the track lends the visual chaos a sense of gravity, as though creation made it possible to move through melancholy.
