MINI WORKERS

In Paris, two workers in orange high-visibility vests walk beneath an immense Prada campaign. Above them, the motionless models embody a polished, desirable, unattainable world. Yet the hoarding separates the image from reality. Mini Workers sets the displayed splendour against the invisible labour that makes it possible, ironically revealing those whom luxury usually leaves out of the frame in the contemporary city.

Suite from the film THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA

Suite, by Theodore Shapiro, blends elegance, energy and irony, much like the film from which it comes. Its glamorous accents accompany the models, while its movement seems to follow the workers. Without being heavy-handed, the music underscores the image’s social contrast, turning the scene into a subtle satire of the world of luxury.
