BIRDS
Above the Thames, Big Ben and Westminster rise beneath a heavy sky as seagulls cut across the image in an almost menacing disorder. The architecture remains still, sovereign; the birds, meanwhile, disrupt the balance. Birds transforms a London scene into visual suspense, where the city seems to be waiting for an invisible event to suddenly emerge from the sky, at the heart of an unsettling silence.

Prelude and Rooftop from the film VERTIGO
Prelude and Rooftop by Bernard Herrmann immediately creates a sense of vertigo. The swirling strings, repeated tensions and orchestral momentum lend the seagulls’ flight an almost choreographed menace. The music turns Westminster into a Hitchcockian setting, where every beat of a wing becomes an omen and every cloud seems to herald an imminent rupture.
