GAME OVER

On the Champs-Élysées, a pink ‘Paris 2024’ plaque remains embedded in the pavement, a fragile remnant of a celebration already over. Behind it, vehicles rush past, blurred and indifferent. Game Over sets memory against the return to everyday life: the Games have fallen silent, the city resumes its course, and yesterday’s glory gradually dwindles to a mark beneath our feet.

Éric Serra’s The Game Is Over brings to the image the melancholy of a chapter brought to a close. Its slowness and layered textures accompany the Olympic traces like echoes of a vanished celebration. The music no longer celebrates victory: it observes what remains when the lights go out and the city carries on.
